first trip to the park!

first trip to the park

Well our sleeping schedule is a bit bizarre, to say the least! But we are working on it.

Lilah and I are sleeping nights, thankfully Lilah adjusted to the timezone quicker than we expected, which we think is great! Because we are hoping she will start her first day of school tomorrow! She has agreed to go tomorrow, each day she makes an excuse that she can't go... so sweet, she just doesn't want to leave her baby sister!

Of course, Phebe hasn't adjusted to our timezone quite as fast, since she lived in China for almost two years, so we are working on it. She and Baba are up at night together and having fun - I think - at least she is! Yesterday she slept from 7am to 7pm. This morning, when she would have been ready to go down for her "nighttime sleep" at 7am, Lilah and I had just wakened, so we popped her into the stroller and headed to the park.

Did she ever love the park! I feel I may even have won over a teeny tiny piece of her heart, by taking her to the park.

She played for a good 2 hours, which was perfect, since we were trying to push her a few hours every day so we can finally make it into our timezone. After we got home I bathed my girls and fed them and Phebe went down at 10:45am. If we push her an extra 2-3 hours every day, we won't be long arriving at the 7pm mark!

  2. That is so cute that Lilah finds excuses to stay home with her sister. You can truly understand that. These first weeks home are so special for the whole family. Hope your sleeping schedule comes back on track soon! I feel for you! But the girls look absolutely amazing together.

  4. The sleep adjustments are so hard! I hope she turns around soon. I also pray she will attach to you more and more as she spends more time with you and Baba heads back to work. Your days must be so quiet right now...

  7. Adore the photos at the park...looks like they are both having so much fun together (: I <3 the photo of Phebe comming down the steps and the two girls framed in the tyre...so sweet! Praying that everything will ease into a nice routine soon. It will be hard for Lilah getting back into school at the close of the September month and leaving behind her new sister, but give her a week and all should be good in her little life (: LOVE TO ALL xxxx

  9. Welcome HOME!!!!! I am so glad you are all sleeping in your own beds (even if at opposite times of the days). I am sorry to hear that Phebe is struggling a little bit with trusting you. I am sure that is really tough, Jill. I did not go through that exactly with Kate but I do feel like I had to earn her trust and I know for sure that the things we have to really work at to earn are so priceless once we get there. I always tell people that comment on how close my bind is with Kate that it is partially because I worked so hard at it. I know it will happen quickly and I pray that it does.

    Big hugs!!!
